Pete Lockett is one of the most versatile and prolific multi-percussionists in the UK. His percussive skills range from traditional Karnatic and Hindustani music of North and South India to traditional Japanese taiko drumming; from blues, funk and rock to classical, folk and ethnic. Having worked in virtually every field of music conceivable both live and in the studio, his boundless talents have earned him a reputation as one of the most wanted percussionists in the world.

Pete's latest album 'One' features five highly individual percussive experts assembled by Lockett. Going under the name Network of Sparks featuring Bill Bruford this album is a dynamic journey through an eclectic mix of percussion from around the world, driven by both ambient eastern beats and the tempestuous sounds of Japan and Africa. The group have been touring internationally throughout the year to packed houses and much acclaim. Pete has also been recording and touring with his other current project Taiko to Tabla with Joji Hirota.
The variety of artists Pete has worked with over the years reflect his diverse talents and include Bjork, Kulu Shaker, Afro Celt Sound System, Vanessa-Mae, Nitin Sawney, Pet Shop Boys, Beth Orton, Natasha Atlas and Trans-Global Underground. He is currently working with The AbZolute Zero Project mixing Western classical, world music, ethnic percussion and dance floor beats using samplers and computers. Watch out for their debut album.
